U.S. House Rep. Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) recently re-posted a meme on Twitter featuring characters from "SpongeBob SquarePants" to protest President Biden's economic and domestic policies.

"You'd have to live in a pineapple under the sea to not understand the crippling impact of Biden and Pelosi’s socialist economic agenda," Bost said in his Monday, Nov. 8 Twitter post.

The meme features recurring villain Man Ray asking SpongeBob's friend Patrick if he supports Biden's spending, amnesty, and abortion policies. The punchline arrives when Patrick suggests other people should pay for the programs.

Bost's Twitter post follows his statement in July, that Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are driving Biden's agenda.

In September, Bost spoke out about the situation at the southern border, particularly as migrants at the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas, gained national attention. Bost called the situation a national security and humanitarian crisis.

Bost has represented Illinois' 12th congressional district in west Illinois since 2015, having previously served a decade in the Illinois State House representing the 115th district. Bost is being challenged by Democrat Keith Richardson in next year's General Election.

The U.S. House recently passed a $1.2 trillion dollar bi-partisan infrastructure bill months after it was approved by the Senate. Biden said he will sign the bill when lawmmakers return from recess.
