Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) thanked supporters who came to the State Fair Affair fundraising event at the Du Quoin American Legion.
“We had a great time at my State Fair Affair fundraising event at the Du Quoin American Legion today," Bryant posted on Facebook on Aug. 29. "Thanks to David Friess for State Representative, State Rep. Dave Severin, Paul Jacobs for Illinois State Representative District 118, Kathi Salvi for US Senate, State Rep. and candidate for Illinois Treasurer Tom Demmer, and many more local elected officials and friends and supporters for coming out to show your support!"
Bryant has held a variety of events to help senior citizens get healthcare throughout this year.
She has also shared her views on abortion and opposed a state move that expanded funding for abortion providers. "More of your hard-earned money [is] being spent to provide abortions for anyone that wants one,” Bryant said recently in a Facebook post. “Remember [that] in Illinois, all pregnant woman [sic] – regardless of income – qualify for Medicaid. That means 100% taxpayer-funded abortion."
Bryant ran unopposed in the June primary election, to represent the District 58; she'll be running unopposed in the November general election.
