Johnson County approves being a gun sanctuary

Johnson County passed a gun sanctuary referendum on Nov. 6.  

The question asked if Johnson County should become a sanctuary county for law abiding gun owners to protect them from unconstitutional gun laws passed by the Illinois General Assembly.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 4,367 were in favor and 717 opposed the referendum.
