McMillan advocates for passage of energy bill

Seth McMillan is still pushing for the passage of SB 2250 before the close of the legislative session.

Supporters of the energy bill argue that it will level the playing field in allowing local producers of electricity to compete with producers from out-of-state where costs are still regulated.

“A bill that would have a huge impact on the future of Montgomery County is stalled in the legislature,” McMillan recently posted on Facebook.

“SB2250 needs to be called," he added.

McMillan, who is running against Rep. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) in the 48th District, has based his campaign on ridding Springfield of all the dysfunction he insists has handcuffed state government.

“Too many career politicians have done nothing to improve the economy in central Illinois,” he wrote in an earlier Facebook post. “There’s no way the politicians in Springfield can justify raising taxes 32 percent without any spending cuts,” he added of last year’s tax increase.

The 48th Senate District includes portions of Christian, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Montgomery and Sangamon counties. It also includes Decatur, Springfield, Taylorville, Carlinville, Litchfield and Hillsboro.
