FOIA Request to Pope County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.

On behalf of Southern Illinois News, we have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Pope County Clerk's office in Illinois. The request was made with the aim of obtaining a list of candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections.

The specific information requested includes the candidate's name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for. We believe that access to this information is essential for comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

As a media organization committed to providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we consider access to public records as crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities.
