President Smith called the regular meeting of the Board of Education of Alden-Hebron Community Consolidated Unit School District #19 to order at 7:00 pm.
Roll Call
PRESENT: Mrs. Smith, Mr. Madsen, Mr. Misiek, Mr. Eskridge, Mr. Berg, Mrs. Johnson

Correspondence
● 9/30/2024: FOIA from Owen Wang of the McHenry Times requesting A PDF copy of the student evacuation plan in the case of active shooting. I did not send him anything because this would be a security risk. Furthermore, I responded with a request to verify the sender's identity but received no response.

Mr. Eskridge announced the Trunk or Treat event will be held at the Hebron Public Library on Thursday, October 17; the Meat Raffle to benefit the Hebron Food Pantry will be held at Hoops Bar and Grill on Saturday, December 7; and a joint fundraiser will be held on April 19, 2025, at the Harvard Moose to benefit the Hebron Service Club, the Hebron Public Library, the American Legion, Linn-Hebron Cemetery, and the Alden-Hebron FFA Club.

Mrs. Tiffany Elswick-Superintendent – as presented
Mrs. Elswick added:
● District 19 would like to express our sympathy to the victims of the tragedy that occurred in our community last week and offer any support needed to them and any students and/or staff.
● Requested and received direction from the BOE to write the Maintenance Grant according to the needs of the ADA/Life Safety list
● IGA with McHenry County Sheriff’s Department
Mr. Madsen moved; Mr. Misiek seconded to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department as presented.

Mrs. Elswick added:
● Thank you to Gary Stephan, ES Custodian, for doing extra cleaning and maintenance projects without a Department Head.
● RTU’s at the ES are completed
● 3 Hallway heaters have been installed at the MS/HS
● The stairs and ramp for the Mobil need to be replaced before winter
● Painting will be done in the stairwells at the MS/HS on Friday, October 25
● An electrician had to be called to assess a light fixture in the Mobil
VILLAGE
Mrs. Smith attended the VOH meeting. Items discussed included:
● Payment of regular bills
● New website host/builder
TOWNSHIP
● Alden Township
Mr. Madsen attended the Alden Township meeting. Items discussed included:

⮚ A meeting regarding the Brandt Family Cemetery
⮚ New wage scale for employees
● Hebron Township: Mr. Eskridge attended the Hebron Township meeting. Items discussed:

⮚ Replacement of stolen signs and stolen railroad lights
⮚ Salt price

Board Comments
● Mrs. Johnson mentioned the HSB & GBB fundraiser at Crandall’s on Monday, October 28. The first 100 attendees will receive a free T-shirt.
● Mr. Misiek stated that this month marks one full year as a BOE member for D19. He thanked everyone for their guidance and support.
Executive Session
Mr. Eskridge moved, and Mr. Misiek seconded, to go into Executive Session at 7:25 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees.

Return to Open Session at 8:09.
