City of Vienna City Council met June 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guests:

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT:

Ron Pitts, Mayor Pro-tem

Alan Racey, Alderman

Angela Moore, Alderman

Austin Tuey, Alderman

Melissa Hill, Alderman

Aleatha Wright, Clerk

Justin Hartline, City Supt.

Brent Williams, Fire Chief

ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT:

Steve Penrod, Mayor

Tim Elliott, Alderman

Haley Huie, Horner& Shifrin

There being a quorum, Mayor Pro-tem, Pitts called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS

Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the May 15, 2024 meeting minutes and the Warrant ($42,879.85). Alderman Hill seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Haley Huie, Horner & Shifrin, was present to review the following final pay estimate invoices payable to Horner & Shifrin (TIF Funds) for the 146 East Project:

April Invoices #72059, Water-$8,759.79, Sewer-$3,754.19

May Invoices #72326, Water-$154.00, Sewer-$66.00

Alderman Moore made a motion to Authorize and Approve all invoices. Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Huie also discussed bidding out the rural development grant/loan water main project in September.

Alderman Hill made a motion to Authorize and Approve $1,200.00 (Tourism Funds) for the city to schedule two bands to perform at city park amphitheater June 15th and August 10th. Alderman Moore seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve the engagement letter between Beussink, Hickam & Kochel, P.C. and the City of Vienna to conduct the 2024 FY Audit. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Moore made a motion to Authorize and Approve a quote for the replacement of heating/air unit at police department. Cains Heating & Cooling-$10,000.00 (TIF Funds). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Moore made a motion to Authorize and Approve a quote for rebuild of a water pump at the city water plant, C&C Pumps & Supply-$18,000.00 (TIF Funds). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS

Wright mentioned citywide yard sales would take place the upcoming weekend.

Fire Chief Williams said he was contacted by Belknap in regards to a mutual aid agreement due to their department no longer being active. Williams also mentioned the increase of lift assists calls within the last few weeks.

Mayor Pro-tem, Pitts briefly shared an article on social media use by city officials.

As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Racey made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Tuey. Pitts declared the meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
