The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School held the FY23 Amended Budget Hearing on June 20, 2023. Upon roll call at 5:56 p.m. the following members were present: Mr. Vosburgh, Mr. Houseman, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Plott, Mr. Mix, and Mr. Bracken.
Public Hearing for FY 2022-23 School District Amended Budget.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Mix to adjourn the Hearing at 6:08 p.m. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School held its regular meeting on June 20, 2023. Upon roll call at 6:09 p.m. the following members were present: Mr. Vosburgh, Mr. Houseman, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Plott, Mr. Mix, and Mr. Bracken.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Vosburgh to approve the Agenda as written. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve the Consent Agenda which contained the following items: approval of board minutes on 5/15/23; approval of closed session minutes; approval of payment for bills, acceptance of financial reports, and accept resignation of Dave Sullivan as Head Girls Basketball Coach. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
Recognition of visitors and correspondence: Bryan Watkins – School Resource Officer
Public Comments: Tim Denny – Football Field Maintenance, Kelly Dallas & Kim Conway – Soccer Boosters/Soccer Complex.
Conducted Hearings to consider barring an individuals from school property. The individuals di not appear for hearing.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Bracken to approve Resolution 23-06-20A to bar James Cole from school property and school events, whether home or away, for twelve months from June 20, 2023 to June 19, 2024. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Vosburgh and seconded by Mr. Mix to approve Resolution 23-06-20B to bar Brett Hammer from school property and school events, whether home or away, for twelve months from June 20, 2023 to June 19, 2024. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
Curriculum Director Finders presented on the SAT Suit e3of Assessments moving to a digital format. Principal Detering spoke about failure reports and discipline.
Superintendent Wright reported on summer construction projects, Joint Annual Conference in Chicago, mandated reporter training for board members, and the accessibility issues with the soccer complex. He also discussed the Operation Healthy Delta, Innovative Readiness Training that has been taking place in our building the past week.
On motion by Mr. Bracken and seconded by Mr. Houseman for the Board to enter into closed session at 8:17 p.m. for the following reasons (1) the purpose of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1) Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(11) On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Bracken to return to regular session at 9:02. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve the Final Reading and Board Policy Updates. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Vosburgh to approve Insurance Renewals from Consolidated Insurance. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Vosburgh and seconded by Mr. Mix to approve Treasurer’s Bond. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Bracken and seconded by Mr. Houseman to approve the Adoption of FY2022-2023 School District Amended Budget. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
1st Reading of Board Policy Updates
On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve the date of July 17, 2023 at 5:45 for the Tuition Waiver Hearing. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
Discussion of E-Learning Days
On motion by Mr. Bracken and seconded by Mr. Vosburgh to hire Ronald Barnett as Social Studies Teacher. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Bracken and seconded by Mr. Mix to hire Jody Nance as In-School Suspension Supervisor. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Mix to hire Kaelynn Bracken as Cheerleading Sponsor. On roll call, Vosburgh, Houseman, Johnson, Plott, Mix voting yes and Bracken abstain. Motion carried.
On motion by Mr. Houseman and seconded by Mr. Vosburgh to approve the date of July 17, 2023 at 5:50 p.m. for E- Learning Days Hearing. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.
On motion by Mrs. Plott and seconded by Mr. Bracken to adjourn the Regular Meeting at 9:45 p.m. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.
