City of Vienna City Council met Jan. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guest: 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT: 

Steve Penrod, Mayor Melissa Hill, Alderman Ron Pitts, Alderman  Angela Moore, Alderman Austin Tuey, Alderman Richard Owen, Alderman Alan Racey, Alderman Aleatha Wright, Clerk Shane Racey, City Supt Brent Williams, Fire Chief 

GUESTS 

Joseph Emery 

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the December 21, 2022 council meeting minutes and the Warrant ($26,697.47). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried. 

Alderman Moore Authorized and Approved to close out a city reservoir account from Banterra Bank. Alderman Pitts seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

None 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS 

Clerk Wright said the Spring Fling carnival agreement would be placed on the next agenda. 

Fire Chief Williams said he was still awaiting quotes from fireworks display companies. 

Penrod noted the following city building maintenance project updates: Samples were received and chosen for library awning replacement. 

Epoxy floor coating would be applied city park bathroom floors on Friday, January 6th. Quotes would be obtained for fire department roof repair. 

Penrod said he would meet with Supt. Racey the following morning to review city ordinances adopted by Metropolis and Marion concerning fiber installation. 

Penrod briefly commented on funding strategies for the upcoming 146 East project and city waterline replacement project. 

As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Pitts made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Tuey. Mayor Penrod adjourned the meeting at 6:48 p.m.
