Vienna Public School District #55 Board of Education met April 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Opening The regular meeting of the Vienna Public School District #55 Board of Education was called to order by vice-president, Stephani Borders at 6:00 p.m. with the following members present:

Present: S. Borders, Vice-President T. Betts, Secretary L. Hook P. Trovillion S. Yadloski K. Johnson

Absent: S. Smith

Others Present: G. Frehner, M. Quertermous, G. Dawes, S. Robinson, A. Hanks (arrived 6:07 p.m.)

Consent Agenda Motion by Yadloski seconded by Hook to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Comments from Employees and Public None

Business of the Administration (A) Treasurer's Report (1) fund balances and FRIS report (B) Administrative Reports (1) JAMP Governing Board meeting report (2) school improvement plan/internal review update (3) proposed E-learning plan draft review

Closed Session Motion by Betts seconded by Johnson to go in to closed session at 6:29 p.m. to discuss (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District, to determine its validity. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Betts seconded by Trovillion to come out of closed session at 8:15 p.m. and return to regular open session. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Let the records show the following items were discussed: (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District, to determine its validity.

Student Teacher Agreement Motion by Yadloski seconded by Betts to approve an agreement with SIU-C to accept student teachers and teacher candidates in clinical placements for the 2022-23 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

PRESS Policies PRESS Policies were distributed for a 30-day review.

Approve Consolidated Title Plan Motion by Trovillion seconded by Hook to approve the Vienna Grade School Consolidated Title Plan for the 2022-23 school year as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Retirement Mrs. Borders read a letter of intent to retire from Boyd Williams, bus driver.

Motion by Johnson seconded by Trovillion to accept a letter of intent to retire from Boyd

Williams, bus driver, at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Yadloski, Hook, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Other 

The athletic banquet will be Friday, May 13, 2022. Awards day will be May 19, 2022.

There will be a special board meeting April 18, 2022.

Adjourn Motion by Hook seconded by Betts to adjourn at 8:26 p.m. All voted yea. Motion carried
