Opening The Special Board Meeting of the Vienna Public School District #55 Board of Education was called to order by Mrs. Sherie Smith, President, at 5:00 p.m. with the following members present:
Present: S. Smith, President S. Borders, Vice-President T. Betts, Secretary S. Yadloski
Absent: P. Trovillion, L. Hook, K. Johnson
Others Present: G. Frehner, A. Hanks, S. Robinson

Closed Session Motion by Borders seconded by Betts to go in to closed session at 5:02 p.m. to discuss
(1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District to determine its validity. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.
Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to come out of closed session and return to regular open session at 5:17 p.m. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Accept Bids Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to approve the lowest responsible bid from Kehrer
Brothers West Roofing, Inc. for the replacement of a walk-out cooler roof in the spring/summer of 2022 for a cost of $10,225 using ISBE matching maintenance grant funds and local Vienna Grade School #55 FP/S funds, as presented. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.
Motion by Yadloski seconded by Borders to approve the lowest responsible base and alternative bids from Shoemaker Building Center of Vienna, Illinois for the replacement of five exterior building doors in the spring/summer of 2022 for a cost of $54,000 using ISBE matching maintenance grant funds and local Vienna Grade School #55 FP/S funds, as presented. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.
Approve Resolution Motion by Borders seconded by Yadloski to approve a resolution to abolish the Vienna Grade School #55 working cash fund and transfer all and existing working cash revenues to the Education fund by June 30, 2022. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.
Employ Teacher Motion by Yadloski seconded by Betts to employ Tayler Bundren as a first grade teacher for the 2022-23 school year. Roll call: Voting yes: Borders, Yadloski, Smith, Betts. Voting no: none. Motion carried.
Adjourn Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to adjourn at 5:27 p.m. All voted yea. Motion carried.
