Joppa-Maple Grove Unit School District 38 Board of Education met July 12.

The Special Board meeting was called to order by President Daniel Burnett at 6:34p.m.
Members present: Daniel Burnett, Peggy McNeill, Denise Meyer, Corey Willenborg, Rachel Henson, and Chris McGinness
Member absent: Kevin Castleman
Also present: Dr. Vickie Artman, Superintendent; Hunter Kreuter, Principal; Eugene Hanses, Legal Counsel for District; Thomas Atherton, Legal Counsel for Vistra/EEI; Terra Temple, The Metropolis Planet; and Sue Sandusky, Mayor of Joppa.
Public Comments:
Vistra Pilot Presentation due to the closing of EEI. Thomas Atherton, Attorney with Vistra, provided a lot of information regarding the upcoming closing of the Joppa plant. He also answered many questions from those in attendance.
Motion made by Chris and second by Denise to go into closed session for the purpose of Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the District finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered in to the closed meeting minutes.
All voted Yes. M/C
Board entered closed session at 7:38pm.
Board returned to open session at 8:24pm.
Motion by Chris and second by Corey to adjourn.
