Joppa-Maple Grove Unit School District 38 Board of Education Met May 4.

The Special Board meeting was called to order by President Daniel Burnett at 6:01p.m. Members present: Daniel Burnett, Peggy McNeill, Denise Meyer, Corey Willenborg, Rachel Henson, and Chris McGinness
Member absent: Kevin Castleman
Also present: Dr. Vickie Artman, Joshua Stafford, Terra Temple, Melba Cockerel, Patsy Foss, and Lynn Reames
Public Comments:
Mr. Joshua Stafford presented information about dealing with financial uncertainty due to the closure of Electric Energy Incorporated. Vienna HSD 133 School District offers a wide range of classes, as well as Dual Credit/Escrow classes. This discussion regarding finances led into the financial difficulties that JMG USD 38 is facing due to the announced closure of EEI. Discussions regarding incomes sparked conversations regarding expenditures. Mr. Stafford stated that the two biggest expenses for any school district are staff salaries and building maintenance.
Motion by Denise Meyer to adjourn, second by Peggy McNeill.
