Union County Board of Commissioners met Nov. 13.

I. Roll Call
Commissioners in attendance are Bobby Toler Jr., Dale Foster, Max Miller & David Gould. Absent member was Kent Pitts.
II. Call Meeting to Order
The Union County Board of Commissioners met for a regular meeting in the Union County Courthouse Community Room at 08:30am. County Chairman Max Miller called the meeting to order.
III. Approval of Minutes
Regular Meeting Minutes- 10/23/20 Mr. Gould made the motion to approve the regular meeting minutes and Mr. Foster seconded the motion.

IV. Public Comments

V. Committee Reports
Mr. Toler attended a 911 board meeting and reported that they have approved their 2021 budget and he wanted to thank Grant Capel and Crystal Gurley for their hard work on the budget. He also stated that they looking at a $120,000.00 surplus next year.
Mr. Gould wanted to report that Animal Control is going smooth with the new hires and a lot of working/cleaning is going on at the shelter.

E. SIDEZ Appointment Discussion
Mr. Miller asked the board to think about someone that would represent Union County on the SIDEZ board. The board will continue to work on finding a representative.

G. FY2021 Budget Discussion
Angie Johnson, County Administrator, stated that she is making her way through the budget but has the majority of it finished. She stated that she is trying to be conservative with the budget and all the office holders have been really good with their requests this year and understand that we don't know where the county will be at with revenues this year. She stated that the sales tax went down but the cannabis use tax went up and 2021 will be hard to predict. She stated that they will have to do some special meetings to work on the budget.
X. Executive Session Mr. Gould made the motion to go into executive session for personal reasons and Mr. Foster seconded the motion.

XI. Other Business
Angie Johnson stated that she was contacted by the CEO program which the county has donated $1000.00 to every December, They were unable to do any fundraisers this year due to COVID so they asked if they could help out in some way. Mrs. Johnson stated that she would ask the board to add more into the new budget for them. Mr. Miller stated that he was in favor and the rest of the board stated they would be in favor as well to raise the donation for 2021.
Lance Meisenheimer, County Clerk, reported that the election went very smooth and thanked the board for investing in the new equipment and software that made the election work perfectly. He also stated that it was a lot of work and the staff and election workers did a great job as well. Mr. Gould stated that he witnessed the office on election night and complemented how well of a job that the Mr. Meisenheimer, staff and election judges worked and how smooth the night went. Mr. Miller added that he was very happy with the process as well and proud that it all worked great.
