8 Pope County residents in their sixties test positive for COVID-19

As of September 28, there have been eight Pope County residents in their sixties who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 123 residents in their sixties in the county who had been tested, meaning that six percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through September 28, there have been 29 confirmed COVID-19 cases and one death from the coronavirus in Pope County.

Illinois gathers all of its COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it's transmission.
