The Regular Meeting of the Vienna Public School District No. 55 Board of Education was called to order by Mrs. Sherie Smith, President, at 6:00 p.m., with the following members present:

Consent Agenda

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Closed Session

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to go in to closed session at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of employees of the District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel of the District, to determine its validity. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Johnson seconded by Betts to come out of closed session and return to regular open session at 8:57 p.m. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Fee Schedule

Mr. Frehner discussed the fee schedule for 2020-21 with the proposed changes.

Employment

Motion by Trovillion seconded by Betts to employ Michelle Quertermous as first grade teacher for the 2021-21 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Hook seconded by Borders to employ Carrie Hood as part-time cook for the 2021-21 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Hook seconded by Betts to employ Adam Hanks as athletic director for the 2021-21 school year. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Approve Stipend

Motion by Borders seconded by Hook to approve the VGSEA approved cross country coaching stipend memorandum as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Johnson seconded by Trovillion to approve the 2020-21 athletic budget as presented. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Set Budget Hearing Motion by Borders seconded by Betts to set a budget hearing for the FY20 budget amendment for June 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. followed by the regularly scheduled meeting. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Set Board Meeting

Motion by Betts seconded by Borders to set the June 8, 2020 regular board meeting to start directly after the budget hearing starting at 6:00 p.m. Roll call. Voting yes: Borders, Trovillion, Hook, Smith, Betts, Johnson. Voting no: none. Motion carried.

Other

Mrs. Smith read a thank you note from the VGSEA for the teacher appreciation gifts.
