Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on May 12.

May 1, 2020
Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 800 block of E. 3rd. The victim stated that Amiee Lynn Davis, 30, Metropolis had come back onto his property after being previously trespassed. Officers checked the area and located her. Davis was arrested for criminal trespass to residence. Davis was taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing. She was released on bond.
May 2, 2020
Kimberly D Towns,43, Ozark, IL was arrested on 17th & Ferry St. Towns was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Hardin County, IL for a petition to revoke probation. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
May 3, 2020
Metropolis Officers received a report that a crazed female was in the backyard of a residence in the 1200 block of Catherine. The victims stated that she was attempting to force her way into the residence and was also throwing things in the backyard and neighbors’ yard. Upon arrival, Officers observed the female yelling at the victim. The victim advised that the female identified as Rebecca Mae Crenshaw,43, Golconda, IL was trying to enter his house through a window. Due to her irrational behavior, she was taken to the Massac Memorial Hospital to be checked out before being lodged at the Detention Center. While at the hospital, Crenshaw attacked two of the EMT’s. After being cleared, Crenshaw was charged with attempted residential burglary and aggravated battery. Crenshaw was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
May 7, 2020
Metropolis Police were called by Kentucky State Police. KSP advised that they had a felony warrant for the arrest of William A Newman,25, Mt. Vernon, KY. KSP believed that Newman was in the Metropolis area and worked for a oversized truck escort service. Officers checked the staging areas and a Metropolis Detective located Newman in the Acee’s Truck Stop parking lot. Newman was arrested. The warrant was issued by Hardin County for Auto Theft. Newman was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending extradition back to KY.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
