Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on May 5.
From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, April 26-30, 2020;
April 27, 2020
Shawn P. Walker,23, Brookport was arrested in the 100 block of E. 15th Street. Walker was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Battery. Walker was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
April 28, 2020
Metropolis Officer were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of W. 11th. Upon arrival, Officers observed two subjects fighting inside the house. The first male disengaged and backed off. The second Dillon M LaRock,28, Metropolis attempted to attack the other male again. LaRock then started fighting with the Sergeant. After getting him handcuffed, LaRock continued to struggle with the officers. LaRock was taken to Massac Memorial for treatment for a laceration to his head. Investigation revealed that LaRock had stuck his brother numerous times with his fist. (the victim being disabled) and the other male was trying to stop LaRock from beating on his brother. While in the emergency room, the Sergeant observed a bulge in his sock. He was found to be in possession of approximately 30 pills identified as Alprazolam, which is a controlled substance. Once released from the hospital, he was charged with Domestic Battery, Possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. LaRock was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
