Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on March 2.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest summary, February 23-29, 2020;

February 23, 2020

Jodie R. Carman,37, Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the 1300 block of Girard St. Carmen was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Trigg County, KY for probation Violation on a Meth related offense. Carman was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 24, 2020

Metropolis Officers were notified by Minnesota authorities of a stolen vehicle tracked to our area. Officers located the vehicle parked in the McDonald’s parking lot. Two suspects were located in the vehicle. Monet’jiah D. Thomas,23 Anoka, MN admitted to taking the vehicle. She was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. The passenger gave police a false name and date of birth. While being questioned, inconsistencies were noted. Metropolis Officers were finally able to obtain his real identity. Marcius L. Harris, 21, Minneapolis, MN was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Hennepin County, MN related to multiple sex crimes involving young children. Harris was arrested for the warrants as well as obstructing justice. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 26, 2020

A Metropolis Officer stopped a black Toyota Corolla on E. 5th St near 12th. A computer check revealed that the registration had expired in December of 2019. A computer check on the driver, Jordan L. Jackson,27, Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Jackson was also wanted on two warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County and McCracken County, KY for credit card fraud. Jackson was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration and the two warrants. Jackson was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 28, 2020

Early in the morning, Louise G Fargo,53, Metropolis was trespassed from the Huddle House restaurant by management in the presence of Metropolis Officers. Later on, in the evening, Officers were called back to the Huddle House. Fargo had returned and was causing a scene. Fargo was arrested for Criminal Trespass to Property and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 29, 2020

At approximately 9:15 pm, a Metropolis Sergeant stopped a silver Ford Mustang on 5th and Cherry for not having its headlights activated when required. A computer check on the driver, Jason W. Leach,39, Old Hickory, TN revealed that his driver’s license was revoked. The Sgt also could detect the odor of Cannabis coming from the vehicle. A search revealed a plastic baggie containing approx. 6.5 grams of Cannabis. Leach was charged with driving while license revoked, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper container transporting Cannabis. Leach was taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing. He was released after posting bond.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
