Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, February 9-15, 2020;

February 9, 2020

Charles D Rucker,60, Metropolis was arrested at a residence in the 1500 block of Catherine St. Rucker was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Williamson County, IL for failure to appear on a Meth related charge. Rucker was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 10, 2020

A Metropolis Officer stopped a green Dodge pick-up truck on US 45 near I-24. The truck had expired registration (Aug 2019). The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. A Computer check revealed that the driver, Robert Tyler snow,27, Paducah, KY had a suspended driver’s license. Snow was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept for processing. Snow was charged with driving while suspended, no valid registration and failure to wear a seatbelt. Snow was able to post bond and was released.

February 11, 2020

John H. Brown,29, Metropolis was arrested at a residence on Walter Dr. Brown was wanted on a Massac County warrant for possession of Meth. Brown was wanted by Calloway County KY, for Meth, Cannabis and traffic charges. Brown was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Jonathon R. Rideout,41, Bardwell KY was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Casey’s General Store on W. 10th St. Rideout had shown up numerous times throughout the night yelling and causing a disturbance. Rideout had been told to leave but kept coming back. At closing time, he punched the window of a car. Rideout was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

February 15, 2020

Billy J Purvis,44, Golconda was arrested in the 200 block of Catherine St. Purvis was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for Theft. Purvis was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Wanda G. Martin,49, Metropolis, was arrested in the 700 block of W. 7th. Martin was wanted on warrants issued by Massac County. The warrants were for Aggravated Battery, Assault and Criminal Damage to Property. Martin was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
