Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 4.

A Metropolis Officer stopped a gray Mitsubishi on James near W. 10th St. for an expired registration sticker. The sticker expired in October of 2019. A computer check on the driver, Homer T. Cissell,51, Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. Cissell could not provide proof of insurance. Cissell was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration. Cissell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Officer observed a white Toyota pick-up truck turning onto Coburn from 12th St. The officer recognized the driver as Cale A Lewis,38, Metropolis. The officer was aware that Lewis had a suspended driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted, and a computer check verified his drivers status. Lewis was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
