Union County Board of Supervisors met Oct. 29.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Union County Board of Supervisors met in Regular Session on Monday October 29, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM with the following members present: Ron Riley, Dennis Brown and Dale Cline.

AGENDA: Motion by Cline and seconded by Brown to approve the Agenda. All voting aye, motion carried.

MINUTES: Motion by Brown and seconded by Cline to approve the minutes from October 22, 2018. All voting aye, motion carried.

OPEN FORUM: No one spoke in open forum.

ENGINEER: Union County Engineer, Zach Gunsolley, presented and discussed the weekly maintenance activity report.

PUBLIC HEARING: Motion by Cline and seconded by Brown to open the Public Hearing @ 10:00am for Communications Upgrade with Motorola/Entering into a Lease Agreement. Roll Call vote: Cline aye, Brown aye, Riley aye, motion carried. There were 26 people in attendance. Kevin Provost, Dorothy McNaught, Jo Duckworth, Brett Weis, Jen Worisek, and Kelly Busch spoke during the public hearing. Public Hearing closed at 10:50am. Motion by Brown and seconded by Cline to go into a 3-year lease agreement (with intentions of bonding) with Motorola to upgrade the communication equipment with 1 new tower and 3 new digital sites. Roll call vote: Brown aye, Cline aye, Riley aye, motion carried.

LETTER OF SUPPORT: Motion by Cline and seconded by Brown approve a Letter of Support from the Board of Supervisors for the McKinley Park Aquatic Center. All voting aye, motion carried.

CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Brown and seconded by Cline to go into closed session at 11:35 Per Iowa Code Section 21.5 (1) (c) matters in litigation. Roll call vote: Cline aye, Brown aye, Riley aye, motion carried. Closed Session ended at 12:00pm.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:05pm.
