Report: Joppa-Maple Grove Ud 38 spent $11,750 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Joppa-Maple Grove Ud 38 is up 15 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Massac County school district spent $10,225 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,750 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 292 to 272.

Joppa-Maple Grove Ud 38's spending in 2016-17 was 9 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
