Anna Jonesboro Community High School District 81 Board of Education met June 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Budget Hearing for AJCHS District #81 Board of Education was called to order by President Johnson at 5:47 on June 23, 2025. Upon roll call, the following members were present: Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Plott, Mr. Mix, and Mr. Massey.

Public Hearing for FY2024-2025 School District Amended Budget.

On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mrs. Plott to adjourn the meeting at 5:54. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School held its regular meeting on June 23, 2025. Upon roll call at 6:00 p.m. the following members were present: Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Plott, Mr. Mix, and Mr. Massey. Mr. Leek arrived at 6:01.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve the Agenda as presented. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Leek and seconded by Mr. Mix to approve the Consent Agenda which contained the following items: approval of board minutes on 5/19/2025; approval of closed session minutes; approval of payment for bills, and acceptance of financial reports. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

Recognition of visitors and correspondence, Public Comments: None

Principal Rice spoke about upcoming dates, attendance, grant, semester exams, and discipline data.

Superintendent Detering reported on Kitchen Refrigeration/Freezer Project Update, School Van, Insurance, Risk Management Plan, Community Eligibility Provision, and Soccer Complex.

On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mr. Massey for the Board to enter into closed session at 7:08 p.m. for the following reasons (1) the purpose of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1) Collective negotiating matters or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(2) On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Mix to return to regular session at 8:28p.m. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mr. Massey to approve FY 2024-2025 School District Amended Budget. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mr. Leek to approve the Insurance Renewal. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Mix to approve the Treasurer’s Bond. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Mix to approve the Risk management Plan. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Plott to approve Marcus Thorpe as Assistant Boys Soccer Coach. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Mix and seconded by Mr. Massey to approve Cole White as Volunteer Wrestling Coach. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Leek and seconded by Mr. Massey to adjourn the Regular Meeting at 8:53 p.m. On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

Next regularly scheduled meeting is Monday, July 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library.
