City of Metropolis City Council met July 14.

a) Motion to approve/reject estimate from Brantley Repair in the amount of $4737.15 for repairs to landscape tractor the Street Dept.

b) Motion to approve/reject quote from IMCO Utility Supply Co. in the amount of $2,920.75 for supplies for the Water Dept.

c) Motion to approve/reject payment to Quint Utilities & Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $1500.00 for work done at the Water Treatment Plant.

d) Motion to approve/reject payment to Quint Utilities & Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $800.00 for hauling soil for the Street Dept.

e) Motion to approve/reject payment to Quint Utilities & Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $10,000.00 for clearing out & mulching for the Light Dept. (Budgeted)

f) Motion to approve/reject donation to the Harrah’s 2025 School Supply Giveaway. Discuss amount to donate.

g) Motion to approve/reject payment of $150.00 for Southern IL Mayors Association dues.

h) Motion to approve/reject the road closure of Superman Square to 6th Street for the annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, Aug. 5th from 3:30 – 8:30 PM for the Police Department.

i) Motion to approve/reject payment in the amount of $7,000.00 to Pyrotecnico for the final payment for the Independence Day Fireworks.

j) Motion to approve/reject two new service contracts from Howard D. Happy for Toshiba E-Studio 4515AC with serial # CNCK31725 (Clerks Office), serial # cnck31678 (Mayor’s Office), and the Lexmark XC2235 with serial #752904514B46G (Parks & Rec).

k) Motion to approve/reject payment to Jones Building LLC for phase #3 Roof Replacement in the amount of $40,000.00 for the TIF Redevelopment Agreement.

l) Motion to approve/reject payment to Jones Building LLC for phase #4 Exterior in the amount of $20,000.00 for the TIF Redevelopment Agreement.

· CORPORATE COUNSEL REPORT

a) Adopt An Ordinance Amending The FY 2024/2025 Budget For The Fiscal Year Ending June 30,2025.

b) Adopt An Ordinance Implementing A Municipal Grocery Retailers’ Occupation Tax And A Municipal Grocery Service Occupation Tax For The City Of Metropolis, IL.

c) Motion to approve/reject A Resolution For Improvement Under The Illinois Highway Code for improvements to Metropolis St. from 5th St. to 1st St. in the amount of $1,300,000.00.
