Akin Community Consolidated School District 91 Board of Education met May 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER:

Present: K. Pemberton, J. Wilkerson, S. Wilson, D. J. Carlton, T. Seddon and S. Sniderwin

2. Audience Participation: (limited to 10 minutes total unless extended by the board).

4. A motion was made by J. Carlton to enter into a closed session to consider information regarding Collective Bargaining, the appointment, evaluation, performance, employment, and/or dismissal of personnel and student disciplinary actions.

5.* A motion is made by J. Carlton to approve a Consent Agenda; which includes: the regular board of education minutes from previous meeting/s, the treasurer’s report/activity fund report and to approve the bills to be paid as presented.

7e. A motion is made by K. Pemberton to approve hiring Drew Ing as assistant basketball coach for the 2025-2026 school year.

7f. Tabled – to approve Co-op Agreement.

7g. A motion is made by J. Carlton to appoint Travis Sullivan to fill the board vacancy for a two-year term (25/27). Seconded by S. Wilson

7h. A motion is made by S. Wilson to update policy on out-of-district student enrollment to add school board members free tuition for family members (children and grandchildren).
