The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guests:

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the January 2, 2025 Meeting Minutes, December Treasurer's Report and the Warrant ($27,258.65). Alderman Hill seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Scott Hickam, with Beussink, Hickam and Kochel P.C., presented and reviewed the 2024 Fiscal Year Financial Report with city officials.
Alderman Elliot made a motion to Approve and Accept the 2024 Fiscal Year Financial Report. Alderman Moore seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Mayor Penrod reappointed Megan Mizell Blaylock to the Zoning Board for the term of 2025-2029. Council was in full consent of the appointment.
Alderman Moore made a motion to Authorize and Approve an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement between the City of Vienna and Johnson County for services of a Depot Coordinator. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Alderman Moore made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Spring Fling Agreement between Little Egypt Shows and the City of Vienna for May 2-3, 2025. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Joe Emery thanked the public works department for their efforts in clearing streets during the recent ice storm.
ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS
Fire Chief Williams also thanked public works for ice and snow removal around the department. Williams reported 152 fire calls for the 2024 year, not including trainings. Williams said due to the New Burnside department no longer being active, there were two responders that had volunteered to assist the Vienna department with calls within their district.
Alderman Tuey said he would obtain two quotes for fireworks from American Patriot Pyro and Starfire Corporation for review. Alderman Pitts added the city may want to sign a multiple year contract for a discount with a vendor if the city intends to continue sponsoring fireworks.
Mayor Penrod said police department renovations have started. Penrod said due to renovations that AA was looking for an alternate meeting place and had inquired of the city depot. Council discussed the depot had been winterized and would not be available.
As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Tuey made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Hill. Mayor Penrod declared the meeting adjourned at 7:31p.m
