Hardin County Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met Oct. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular called meeting of the Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 met in the board room at the District office. The meeting was called to order by Jimmy Stunson at 6:30 p.m. Present were: Greg McDowell, Britt Belford, Ryan Cowsert, Jana Cowgill, Ryan Vaughn, and Jimmy Stunson. Colby Potts was absent. Administrators present: Andy Edmondson, Susan Armstrong, and Johnie Edwards.

Student Council members Maddie Dutton and Emma Dunstan, Aaron Bishop, and members of the HCEA were recognized as guests. The student council addressed the Board about items discussed in their speak up sessions.

A motion was made by Cowsert and seconded by McDowell to approve the consent agenda as presented. McDowell, yes; Belford, yes; Cowsert, yes; Cowgill, yes; Stunson, yes; Vaughn, yes.

Administrative Reports: Mrs. Armstrong gave updates on the School Improvement Plan. Ms. Edwards discussed the upcoming fire marshal visit as well as updates on the custodial cleaning. Mr. Edmondson reported on the lift station, trainings and the teacher vacancy grant.

A motion was made by Vaughn and seconded by Belford to approve increase in athletic clock pay to $30. Cowsert, yes; Cowgill, yes; Stunson, yes; Vaughn, yes; McDowell, yes; Belford, yes.

A motion was made by Cowsert and seconded by McDowell to approve Special Education Trip to Evansville, IN, November 8th for grades 7-9. Cowsert, yes; Cowgill, yes; Stunson, yes; Vaughn, yes; McDowell, yes; Belford, yes.

A motion was made by Belford and seconded by Cowsert to enter into executive session at 6:59 p.m. Cowgill, yes; Stunson, yes; Vaughn, yes; McDowell, yes; Belford, yes Cowsert, yes.

A motion was made by Cowgill and seconded by Vaughn to exit executive session at 7:28 p.m. Stunson, yes; Vaughn, yes; McDowell, yes; Belford, yes; Cowsert, yes; Cowgill, yes.

A motion was made by McDowell and seconded by Belford to approve the October 28th BOE sheet as presented.
