FOIA Request to Mound City Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
As a team at Southern Illinois News, we have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the organization of Mound City in Illinois. The request was sent on October 30, 2024, and it seeks comprehensive details about both new and active residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till the date of the request.
The specific records requested under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act include a list of all new residential and commercial building permits with fields such as type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address, and contractor name. In addition to this, we have also requested information about all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status.
Our role as a media organization is to provide accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
