FOIA Request to City of Metropolis Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Southern Illinois News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Metropolis. The request, dated October 30, 2024, seeks information about all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023 till the present date.
The details requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address where the construction is taking place or has taken place, and the contractor's name. This data will allow us to scrutinize local development trends and ensure that all construction activities are being conducted in compliance with city regulations.
Additionally, we have also requested a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. This information will provide insight into ongoing construction projects within the city and help us track their progress.
