FOIA Request Sent to City of Rosiclare Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Rosiclare Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Southern Illinois News have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was made to the City of Rosiclare and pertains specifically to unpaid parking violations within the city.

The information sought includes a list of all parking violations currently unpaid. For each violation, we have asked for details such as the name of the offender, their address, the amount due, violation date, and total due.

Our aim in gathering this information is twofold. Firstly, we seek to hold public institutions accountable by shedding light on potential areas of concern or neglect within their operations. Secondly, we strive to provide transparency to the public by ensuring they are informed about matters that may directly or indirectly affect them.

We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities as a media organization. We also believe that as a media professional involved in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request.

We will continue to keep you updated on any developments regarding this request and other issues affecting our community. As always, we welcome any questions or concerns you may have regarding our work.
