The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guests:

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
Alderman Hill made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the September 18, 2024 Meeting Minutes, the September 24, 2024 Special Meeting Minutes and the Warrant ($48,920.37). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Alderman Pitts made a motion to Authorize and Approve Inv#73640, Horner & Shifrin- $162,214.00 (TIF Funds) for Vienna Water improvement preliminary engineering fees. Alderman Racey seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve $500.00 (Community Funds) towards the Christmas on the Square event. Alderman Pitts seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Wright reviewed an early contract extension proposal from Bulldog Systems for solid waste collection and disposal that would take effect February of 2026. Council was in consent to obtain an official contract from Bulldog Systems for approval.

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS
Fire Chief Wiliams discussed the department applying for a small equipment grant in the amount of $26,000.00 for radios and turnout gear. Williams reported 22 fire calls for the month of September. Williams also discussed roof repair at the department.
Mayor Penrod discussed the status of Rt 146 East at the roundabout. Penrod said Redbud Road would reopen October 7th. The projected date for completion of the project is May, 2025, per IDOT.
Penrod mentioned the Police Department had received notification of a TASER award under the Less Lethal Alternatives for Law Enforcement Grant Program through ILEAS.
As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Pitts made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Tuey. Mayor Penrod declared the meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
