CALL TO ORDER
On September 24, 2024 at 6:25 p.m. President Hoover called to order the regular meeting of the Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education.
Roll Call
Members Present: Adina Hoover, Whitney Rogers, Jessica Radogno, Angela Steketee, Kevin Marren, Leah Conover
Members Absent: Carlos Hevia
Also present: Superintendent Jack Baldermann, Business Manager, Anthony Ruelli, the Superintendent’s Administrative Assistant, Shannon Cossairt.
Pledge of Allegiance
Adina Hoover led the Assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.
CLOSED SESSION
Motion by Ms. Conover, second by Mr. Marren, to enter closed session to discuss personnel issues, student discipline, review closed session minutes, and sale or lease of real property.
Ayes: Radogno, Marren, Steketee, Rogers, Conover, Hoover
Nays: None.
Motion Carried.
The Board entered closed session at 6:26 p.m.
The Board returned to open session at 7:02 p.m.
The Board is going to move to the Public Hearing for the 2024-2025 Budget. They will return to the order of the agenda following the hearing.
CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING ON 2024-2025 BUDGET
Adina Hoover, President of the Board of Education, calls the Public Hearing to order regarding the proposed 2024-2025 Budget at 7:03 p.m.

The President declares the Public Hearing on the proposed 2024-2025 agenda closed at 7:16 p.m.
The Board will resume the original order of the agenda.

Motion by Ms.Steketee, second by Ms. Conover, to approve the minutes of the September 24, 2024, regular meeting of the Board of Education, as presented.

Motion by Mr. Marren, second by Ms. Rogers, to approve the minutes of the closed session of the September 24, 2024, regular meeting of the Board of Education, as presented.

INFORMATION and DISCUSSION
IASB Tri-Conference - Board Panels and Sessions
The Board has been asked to join some panels at the Tri-Conference this year. The Board will be participating on a panel about the Superintendent Evaluation Process and the Superintendent Interview/Selection Process. The Board would like to will plan ahead for the events they attend while at the conference.
Policy First Reading The Policy Committee met this evening, September 24, 2024, to review the changes issued by PRESS Policy. The changes in policy all pertain to the latest updates to Title IX. The Board is presenting the changes tonight for the first reading, and they will be presented again for a second reading and approval on October 8, 2024.
ACTION ITEMS
1. Adoption of 2024-2025 Budget
Motion by Ms. Conover, second by Mr. Marren:
WHEREAS the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 201, County of DuPage, State of Illinois, caused to be prepared in tentative form a budget, and the Secretary of this Board has made the same conveniently available to public inspection for at least thirty days prior to final action thereon;
AND WHEREAS a public hearing was held as to such budget on the twenty- fourth day of September 2024, notice of said hearing was given at least thirty days prior thereto as required by law, and all other legal requirements have been complied with;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Education of said district as follows:
Section 1: That the fiscal year of this School District be and the same hereby is fixed and declared to be beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025.
Section 2: That the following budget containing an estimate of amounts available in each fund, separately, and of expenditures from each be and the same is hereby adopted as the budget of this school district for the said fiscal year.
Approve as presented.

2. Board Action on Closed Session Minutes
Motion by Ms. Steketee, second by Mr. Marren, to approve the Board action on Closed session minutes, as presented.

3. Destruction of Verbatim Closed Session Minutes
Motion by Mr. Marren, second by Ms. Steketee, to approve the destruction of the verbatim closed session minutes from September 2022 through February 2023.
Ayes: Rogers, Conover, Hoover, Radogno, Marren, Steketee
Nays: None.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Communication
Superintendent Baldermann thanked everyone with their efforts in putting together the BPAC event. It was a beautiful evening. Hoopfest was another wonderful event and fundraiser. Great to see the community all together. This week is the Homecoming parade, game, and dance.
The Town Halls have been well attended. The District encourages everyone to come out. The remaining meetings will be held on September 25, 26, 28 and October 1 and 8.

Ms. Steketee wanted to remind everyone the football game on Friday will start at 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Hoover would like to let everyone know there will be four positions open on the CUSD 201 School Board in the April 2025 Consolidated Election. You can find more information on the CUSD 201 or DuPage County website.
