Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure Review Committee met Aug. 23.

I.Call to Order and Roll Call

Julia Stehlow called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.; Meagan Budke called roll.

II.Norms

Ms. Strehlow briefly went over the norms for the meeting.

III.Approval of Minutes from May 24, June 28, and July 18 Meetings

Ms. Strehlow mentioned that copies of the minutes from the last three meetings had been emailed for review. She asked if anyone had any comments or questions about the three sets of minutes. No one did. Ms. Strehlow asked if anyone would like to move to have the committee vote to approve all three sets of minutes in the same motion. Bob Bardwell made the motion, and Cynthia Riseman-Lund seconded it. Ms. Budke called the roll.

There were not enough “yes” votes to officially approve the minutes, however, due to the conclusion of the committee, the minutes will be posted on the PELRC webpage and noted as unofficial.

IV.Discuss Final Report

Ms. Strehlow went over what the final report included and the next steps. V.Vote on Final Report

Ms. Strehlow asked for a statement moving to approve the report. Lisa Betz moved to have the report considered, and Jessica Handy seconded the motion. Ms. Budke called the roll to approve the Professional Educator Licensure Review Committee report.

VII.Public Comment

Ms. Strehlow asked for public comment. There was no public comment. VIII.Next Steps Ms. Strehlow said the next step will be to seek approval of the report from ISBE. Once approved, the report will be posted on the ISBE website. The report will be shared with the Board in a Board update. Ms. Strehlow has been invited to present the report to the State Educator Preparation and Licensure Board (SEPLB) in October or November.

IX.Adjourn

Ms. Strehlow asked if anyone had a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Vince Walsh-Rock made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Lynn Burdick seconded the motion.
