New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met March 14.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of March 14, 2024, to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Treat, and Baity. Widowski was absent.
Administration present: Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Yandell, and Mr. Evetts Visitors: None
Motion by Hill seconded by Baity to approve the minutes of the 02-08-24 regular board meeting, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Mize to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $97,613.79., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility Report; Calendars with upcoming events
Motion by Baity seconded by HIll to approve the amended FY24 calendar as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the FY25 calendar as presented, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to approve the Consolidated District Plan as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to accept the 2024-2025 fee schedule as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to appoint Rebecca Yandell to approve the E-rate 471 form, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to accept the price quote from Extreme Power wash for soft washing of brick for sealant purposes, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Mize to accept the price quote from S.I. Piping for classrooms 148, 149, and 150 with HVR system as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to accept the price quotes from S.I. Piping for classrooms 142, 143, 144 for HVR system as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 8:10 pm to discuss:
• Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2)
• Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)

Motion by Hill seconded by Mize to approve the NHSEA Letter of intent to bargarin, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Hill to approve the Principal evaluation as presented, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Baity to approve the teacher evaluation as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to hire Emmalee McPheron as full-time substitute teacher upon completing employment requirements for the 2024- 2025 school year, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Treat to hire Taleah Warren as temporary short term individual care aide as needed for remainder of 2023-2024 school year only, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to approve the overnight trip for National Beta Convention, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Mize to adjourn, carried.
