New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met Dec. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

MINUTES OF TAX LEVY HEARING

President Hoffard called the special board meeting of December 14, 2023, to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard,Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.

Administration present: Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Yandell Visitors: None

Superintendent Anderson presented information in regards to the tax levy.

Having no more testimony, the meeting adjourned at 6:12PM.

MINUTES OF REGULAR BOARD MEETING OF DECEMBER 14, 2023

President Hoffard called the special board meeting of December 14, 2023, to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard,Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.

Administration present: Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Yandell Visitors: None

Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to approve the minutes of the 11-08-23 special and regular board meeting, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Hill to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $57,121., carried.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: Enrollment/Mobility Report; Upcoming events; Replacement of Door C Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the 2023 tax levy as presented, carried.

Motion by Widowksi seconded by Hill to approve a Resolution providing for the use of $315,000 General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2023 pf Consolidated School District #32, Johnson and Williamson County, IL, for the purpose of increasing the Working Cash Fund of said school district, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest of authorize the sale of said bonds to the purchases there of, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Widowksi to approve the FY23 audit as presented, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to tentatively approve Policy 4:60: Purchases and Contracts, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to tentatively approve the 2024-2025 calendar, carried. Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to accept the diesel bid as presented, carried.

Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 7:25pm to discuss: • Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)

Motion by Widowksi seconded by Hill to resume open session at 7:40, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to accept the resignation of Alysha Mott as Teacher’s Aide, carried.

Motion by Hill seconded by Mize to hire Emmalee McPheron as a teacher’s aide for the 2023-214 school year effective January 3, 2024, carried.

Motion by Ross seconded by Widowksi to hire Chad Deaton as assistant boy’s basketball coach for the 2023-2024 school year, carried.

Motion by Treat seconded by Widowksi to adjourn, carried.
