Union County Board of Commissioners met June 9.

I. Roll Call

Commissioners in attendance are Darryl Harvell, Kent Pitts, Max Miller, and David Gould. Commissioner Bierstedt was absent

II. Call Meeting to Order

The Union County Board of Commissioners met for a regular meeting in the Union County Courthouse Community Room at 8:30 a.m. County Board Chairman Max Miller called the meeting to order.

III. Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Commissioner Pitts and seconded by Commissioner Harvell for approval the meeting minutes for 5.26.2023.

IV. Public Comments – Leigh Burns updates on Tax Bills- The first installment will be due July 20th and the Second installment September 20th.

V. Committee Reports

Commissioner Pitts reported that Animal Control is still extremely full.

Commissioner Miller reported that the Animal Control building cost came in higher than first thought.

VI. Building Permits

A motion was made by Commissioner Pitts and seconded by Commissioner Gould to approve the above mentioned building permit.

VII. Old Business -

A. Approval of Ordinance Amending Article 13 of Chapter 36 of the Union County Code of Ordinance.

A motion was made by Commissioner Miller and Seconded by Commissioner Pitts to Approve the Ordinance Amending Article 13 of Chapter 36 of the Union County Code of Ordinance

B. Acceptance of FY2022 Union County Audit-Tabled

A motion was made by Commissioner Pitts and seconded by Commissioner Harvell to approve the Payment of Bills

-County Admin Angie Johnson provided Legal Bills for Jury that are over budget for $805.20 A motion was made by Commissioner Miller and Seconded by Commissioner Pitts to approve payment of Legal Bills-Jury- $805.20

B. Ordinance Amending The Reimbursement of Travel, Meal and Lodging expenses of Officers and Employees

A motion was made by Commissioner Miller and Seconded by Commissioner Pitts to Approve the Ordinance Amending the Reimbursement of Travel, Meal and Lodging expenses of Officers and Employees.

IX. Executive Session - A motion was made at 8:45 AM by Commissioner Miller and seconded by Commissioner Pitts to go into Executive Session to discuss Litigation and Personnel.

Executive Session ended at 9:05AM. Regular Session resumed at 9:05AM

X. Other Business -

Union County Clerk Lance Meisenheimer asked for a consensus on being able to use County Resources for the Jackson-Union County Port district secretary position that he has been appointed to. The board agreed and had no issues with Mr. Meisenheimer using County resources for the board.

XI. Adjournment

A motion was made at 9:07 AM by Commissioner Pitts and seconded by Commissioner Gould to adjourn the meeting.
