Board President Josh Gooden called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

A motion was made by Jim Hammer and seconded by Cheryl Ligon to approve the agenda for the meeting. Roll call vote: Josh Gooden, yea; Jim Hammer, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Cheryl Ligon, yea; Brooke Frank, yea; Colling Crane, yea. Motion carried.
Jenny Hall gave comment calling the last day of school “bittersweet.” AEEA had a nice time at the retirement lunch, and appreciate the Board’s service. The union will stay at the meeting to support conversations regarding Dr. Behan’s report.
A motion was made by Pam Needling and seconded by Jim Hammer to change the June Board Meeting to June 26, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Roll call vote: Josh Gooden, yea; Jim Hammer, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Cheryl Ligon, yea; Brooke Frank, yea; Colling Crane, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Josh Gooden and seconded by Pam Needling to allow Becky Lannom to pursue coursework beyond her Master’s degree. Roll call vote: Josh Gooden, yea; Jim Hammer, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Cheryl Ligon, yea; Brooke Frank, yea; Colling Crane, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Cheryl Ligon and seconded by Pam Needling to enter Executive Session for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), and collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Roll call vote: Josh Gooden, yea; Jim Hammer, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Cheryl Ligon, yea; Brooke Frank, yea; Colling Crane, yea. Motion carried.
Board went into executive session at 5:35 p.m.
Board returned to open session at 8:41 p.m.
A motion was made by Jim Hammer and seconded by Cheryl Ligon to adjourn at 8:41 p.m. with the next meeting being a regular meeting scheduled for June 26, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Voice vote: Motion carried.
