New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met May 11.

President Hoffard called the special board meeting of May 11, 2023, to order at 6:00PM. Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Ms. Yandell Visitors: Eric & Katrina Eckhart
Motion by Ross seconded by Baity to approve the regular minutes of the 04-10-23 board meetings, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $8,793., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: None
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to approve the election canvas as presented and proclaim the following winners for terms to begin immediately: Ryan Hill (4 years), Vince Hoffard (4 years), Paul Widowski (4 years), carried.
President Hoffard administered the Oath of Office.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to adjourn Sine Die at 7:12 pm, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Hill to appoint Joe Nighswander as President Pro-term and Faye Mize as Secretary Pro-term, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowksi appoint Hoffard as President of the New Simpson Hill Board of Education, carried.
Motion by Widowksi seconded by Ross to appoint Ryan Hill as Vice President of the New Simpson Hill Board of Education, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Hill to appoint Faye Mize as Secretary of the New Simpson Hill Board of Education, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to adopt the polices and procedures of previous Board of Education, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to approve the 2023-24 meeting dates as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to appoint Racheal Huckelberry as School Board Treasurer, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to accept the bus bid from Midwest Bus Sales for a new 2024 school bus, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to accept the bid from Cintas for Fire Protection Services for FY24, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to discontinue the Mobile App for New Simpson Hill, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to schedule a Special Board meeting for June 22, 2023 for the purpose of amending the budget, carried.

Motion by Mize seconded by Baity to set the Budget Amendment Hearing for June 22, 2023, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 8:32 PM to discuss:
Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to resume open session at 8:55 PM, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to rehire Support Personnel for the 2023-24 school year with salaries as presented, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Ross to employ Isaiah Cornelius as Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2023-24 season, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for a Cheerleading Sponsor and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widwoski to assign title of Assistant Superintendent to Rebecca Yandell, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Mize to adjourn, carried.
