Kelly Keller gave public comment expressing her opinion on why negotiations were delayed.
A motion was made by Dave Sullivan and seconded by Austin Walker to enter executive session for the purpose of collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Roll call vote: Grant Capel, yea; Cheryl Ligon; Josh Gooden, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Dave Sullivan, yea; Austin Walker, yea; Jim Hammer, yea. Motion carried.
Board went into executive session at 5:05 p.m.
Board returned to open session at 5:38 p.m.
A motion was made by Josh Gooden and seconded by Cheryl Ligon to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Anna CCSD #37 Board of Education and the Anna Elementary Education Association. Roll call vote: Grant Capel, yea; Cheryl Ligon; Josh Gooden, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Dave Sullivan, yea; Austin Walker, yea; Jim Hammer, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Cheryl Ligon and seconded by Dave Sullivan to approve the MOU with the AEEA regarding 6% salary caps, exceptions to this rule, and 2022-2023 retiree salaries. Roll call vote: Grant Capel, yea; Cheryl Ligon; Josh Gooden, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Dave Sullivan, yea; Austin Walker, yea; Jim Hammer, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Jim Hammer and seconded by Grant Capel to approve the MOU with the AEEA regarding secretarial working calendars. Roll call vote: Grant Capel, yea; Cheryl Ligon; Josh Gooden, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Dave Sullivan, yea; Austin Walker, yea; Jim Hammer, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Austin Walker and seconded by Cheryl Ligon to approve the salary raises for non-union employees as presented. Roll call vote: Grant Capel, yea; Cheryl Ligon; Josh Gooden, yea; Pam Needling, yea; Dave Sullivan, yea; Austin Walker, yea; Jim Hammer, yea. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Pam Needling and seconded by Jim Hammer to adjourn at 5:42 p.m. with the next meeting being a special meeting scheduled for March 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Voice vote: Motion carried.
