Hardin County Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met Feb. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular meeting of the Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1 met in the board room at the District office. The meeting was called to order by Greg Warren at 6:30 p.m. Present were: Denise Littrell, Greg Warren, Britt Belford, Gene Fatheree, Colby Potts, and Greg McDowell. Nick McDowell and Britt Belford were absent. Administrators present: Andy Edmondson, Ira Cruson and Susan Armstrong.

Ida Bishop (HS softball) and members of HCEA were recognized as guests.

A motion was made by G. Warren and seconded by Fatheree to approve the consent agenda as presented. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by G. McDowell to approve trips for Ag Legislative Day, Physics/Calculus class trip and High School trip. G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to approve the Senior Class trip with continuing to look into travel arrangements. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Fatheree to approve the purchase of a John Deere Gator HXP615E. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Littrell and seconded by G. McDowell to approve agreement with Southern Seven Health Department and Head Start. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by G. Warren and seconded by Fatheree to enter into executive session at 7:25 p.m. Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by G. McDowell to exit executive session at 7:55 p.m. Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; Fatheree, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to approve Carlta Hodge as Temporary Part time Paraprofessional for 2022-23. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, motion carried.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to approve the addition of Glenda Sehi as sub cook to the District sub list. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to hire Sherri Morris as Elementary Special Education teacher for 2023-24. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Potts and seconded by Littrell to hire Makayla Lane as Jr High Special Education teacher for 2023-24 pending certification. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.

A motion was made by Fatheree and seconded by Littrell to approve 2023-24 contract with Ira Cruson with a 4% raise. Fatheree, yes; Potts, yes; Littrell, yes; G. McDowell, yes; and Warren, yes.
