Q1 2022 Recap: 1 parolee from Union County convicted of drug crimes set for release

There was one offender convicted of a crime involving drugs living in Union County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Southern Illinois News.

The data shows the released offender was a man. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 45 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of drug crimes were paroled during the first quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
