2021 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Massac County?

There were 21 offenders released on parole during 2021 that live in Massac County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Southern Illinois News.

The data shows 19 men and two women were released in Massac County. The median age of the parolees was 39. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Justin D. Lamer. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018 when he was 29 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
