Women’s Bowling Takes First at USBC ITC Sectionals
McKendree University women's bowling claimed the title at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships and Intercollegiate Singles Championships Sectional this past weekend in Smyrna, Tenn. McKendree came out on top in a field of 17 teams while two Bearcats finished in the top five of the singles circuit.
McKendree played 64 team games over the two-day competition, tallying a grand total of 13,195 pins and two games with a high of 268 pins. Following the Bearcats, Maryland University-East Shore was second, the University of St. Francis (IL) placed third, and the University of Tennessee Southern finished fourth. The top four teams advance to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 20-22.
In the singles competition, seniors Rebecca Hagerman and Maranda Pattison finished first and third, respectively. The top five individuals qualified for the Las Vegas outing.
The Bearcats are back in Smyrna, Tenn., this coming weekend at the Columbian 300 Music City Classic starting on March 17.
