Kaskaskia Community College District #501 Board of Trustees met Jan. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

ATTENDANCE 

Trustees Bill Hawley, Bryan Holthaus and Louis Kalert met members of the Capital Development Board in the East parking lot to begin the campus tour at 10:00 a.m. and were present throughout the tour and during lunch. Trustees Jim Beasley, Jeff Brown, Linda Stover and Laura Wedekemper were not present during the tour or lunch nor was Student Trustee Alyssa Lurkins. 

Members of the Capital Development Board visiting the main campus for the tour and lunch were Jim Underwood - Executive Director; Marcy Joerger - Programming Administrator; and Erin Eoff - Senior Capital Planning Analyst. Other visiting attendees included Zach Koutsky of Berteau Consulting; Eric Madiar of Madiar Government Relations, Inc.; Donna Richter, CEO for Southern Illinois Builders Association; Jon Carroll - Executive Vice President of Poettker Construction; and Ryan Poettker – President of Poettker Construction. 

Kaskaskia College attendees included Julie Obermark – Vice President of Instructional Services; Judy Hemker - Chief Financial Officer; Amy Troutt - Vice President of Student Services; George Kriss - Chief Information Officer; and Craig Roper - Director of Purchasing and Auxiliary Operations. 

The tour of the main campus included the parking lots, and main campus infrastructures in the Lifelong Learning Center (LLC), Science and Technology Building (ST), Administrative (AD) Building, Health and Business (HB) Building, the Library (L) Building and the Fine Arts (FA) Building. The tour included highlights of recent Phase I renovations and outlined future upgrades and highlighted challenges with HVAC and abatement concerns. 

During lunch President Evans and staff presented the college’s recent and future renovation projects and highlighted areas of need as well as overview of funds available and funds requested by the college. 

ADJOURNMENT 

The visit from members of the Capital Development Board adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
