McKendree University men's basketball clinched its first ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional semifinals with a 77-63 win over the No.1-seeded University of Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats face Northern Michigan on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET for a chance to compete in the championship game on Tuesday, March 14.

Indianapolis led only in the first half by four points before McKendree would control the lead for the remainder of the game. The Bearcats continued their strong first-half shooting streak, hitting 61.5 percent of shots from the field to hold a 40-33 advantage over the Greyhounds at the half.

McKendree extended its lead to as many as 16 points in the second half, though a few short runs from Indianapolis put the Greyhounds within six points with 11:14 to go in the game. The Bearcats' 47 percent shooting from the field and 93 percent shooting from the foul line helped push the lead out of reach for the Greyhounds as McKendree sealed the 77-63 victory.
