A three pointer from Westminster's Shelby Kurtz as time expired gave the Blue Jays an 82-79 win over the Greenville women's basketball team on Thursday night in the semifinals of the SLIAC tournament.
The game, which featured 14 tie scores and 26 lead changes, ended when Kurtz came off a screen in the low post and broke free for an open shot from the corner for the game winning bucket.
The Panthers opened the game with a 23-22 lead after the first quarter, but Westminster held a 38-37 advantage at halftime.
The teams went to the fourth quarter tied at 62-all before the Blue Jays outscored Greenville by three points in the final period.
Madelyn Stephen concluded the season as GU's leading scorer with an 18 point effort.
Savana Powell-Goodman provided 15 points and five steals for the Panthers.
Emily Reinneck offered a solid effort for GU with 14 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists while Ally Cantrill finished with 10 points.
The Panthers ended the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 18-8 and a second place showing in the SLIAC standings.
