Public Hearing 2022 Proposed Tax Levy

The City Council of the City of Vienna, met at Vienna City Hall for a Public Truth in Taxation Hearing with the following members and guest: 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT: 

Steve Penrod, Mayor 

Melissa Hill, Alderman 

Ron Pitts, Alderman 

Angela Moore, Alderman 

Austin Tuey, Alderman 

Alan Racey, Alderman 

Aleatha Wright, Clerk 

Michelle Meyers, Treasurer 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: 

Richard Owen, Alderman 

GUESTS 

Scott Hickam 

Addam Holder 

Phil Morris 

Joseph Emery 

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. 

Mayor Penrod reviewed the proposed 2022 Tax Levy Ordinance 22-07, explaining the broad areas for the proposed increases, including social security, tort/liability insurance and workers' comp insurance. 

*The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2021 were $217,966.00 

*The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2022 are $243,490.00, an 11.71% increase over the previous year. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

No public questions or comments were made. 

Alderman Pitts made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Racey. All present in favor. 

Mayor Penrod adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
