Men's basketball drops 147-126 decision against UW-Stout
The men's basketball team performed admirably against Wisconsin-Stout on Friday night, but the Blue Devils pulled away over the last 12 and a half minutes of the game to hand the Panthers a 147-126 setback.
The Panthers tied the game at 88-all with 12:47 to play before Stout put the game away.
Greenville's fast-paced attack led to 28 turnovers by Stout, and there were periods of time when the Panthers' pace gave the Blue Devils fits. Joseph Craig and Carlos Crespo led GU with four steals.
Late in the first half the Panthers established a two point lead and only trailed by three, 66-63 at halftime. However, UWS outscored Greenville 81-63 over the last 20 minutes.
Kieshun Thomas was the leading scorer for GU with 30 points in the game. Jared Johnson contributed 19 points, and Darius Scott and Crespo each added 17. Adrian Alvarez posted 12 points.The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Brody Fox who established a school record with 70 points in the game.
Greenville received four assists from Brock Bailey, and the Panthers limited themselves to only 12 turnovers.
The Panthers (0-3) pushed their scoring average to 101 points per game, and they will play MUW on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. at H.J. Long Gymnasium.
