New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board of Education met Sept. 15.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Vice President Mize called the regular board meeting to order at 6:00PM.
Present were: Mize, Hill, Widowski, Treat, and Baity. Hoffard and Ross were absent.
Administration present: Mr. Nighswander Visitors: None
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to approve the minutes of the 8-11-22 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $76,203., carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS: IASB Virtual Meeting Schedule; Enrollment/Mobility Report; Calendar; Menu
Motion by Widowski seconded by Baity to approve the FY23 New Simpson Hill budget as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to authorize the Superintendent to begin work on the tax levy, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat approve the Emergency/Crisis Management Plan, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to change the January board meeting to January 9, 2023, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Widowski to approve the FY23 E-Learning Plan as presented, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Widowski to approve the Policy 7:180 revision to the Bulling Policy, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to convene to closed session at 7:03 PM to discuss:
Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Baity to resume open session at 7:33 PM, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Treat to employ Rebecca Philpott as Beta Club Co-sponsor for the 2022-23 school year effective immediately, carried.
Motion by Baity seconded by Treat to employ Beth Palmer as Girls Assistant Basketball coach for the 2022-23 season, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Treat to accept the resignation letter of Michelle Sanders effective June 30, 2026, carried.
Motion by Treat seconded by Baity to adjourn, carried.
